Job description:

THE POSITION
Reporting to the VP of the Biologics Development Center (BDC), the Technical Champion is a senior position with proven expertise in Biologics development and manufacturing. The Technical Champion will help cross-functional Technical Development Team(s) in delivering against customer development, process optimization and scale up projects. This leader will catalyze effective collaborations with technical and analytical teams, the manufacturing site, Regulatory, Quality, Proposals, Commercial and Program Management to ensure the timely and successful delivery of projects. He/she will also represent the Technical functions to support and coordinate technical input for Customer Proposals development and attend Customer Steering Committee meetings as needed. This role will also act as a "sparring partner" and coach for Team Leads and assist in troubleshooting.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive technical CMC strategy of Biologics Development Center projects in alignment with Senior Management. Accountable to ensure end-to-end seamless delivery of Drug Substance to clients, and prioritize project activities to address its needs.
  • Lead planning, coordination and operational excellence of technical functions within Biologics Development Center projects (CLD, USP, DSP, Manufacturing...). Execute effective risk mitigation strategies and oversee regulatory submission for the relevant sections.
  • Actively collaborate at the interface with key functions within projects (Quality, Regulatory, Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain...)
  • Represents the Technical Functions with stakeholders across company and when interacting with external business partners; ensures excellent information flow between team members, to functional management, and to governance committees to ensure transparency, informed decision making, and optimal alignment of all technical deliverables with the project strategy.
  • Responsible for the preparation and governance of Portfolio Review Meetings and ensuring the quality of material for effective decision-making
  • Represents projects to Senior Management and company governance committees and contributes to key business justifications requiring corporate approvals

Required profile:

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's degree in biology, biotechnology, chemical engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical biotechnology CDMO industry setting.
  • Strong expertise in the development, transfer and manufacturing of robust mammalian processes, with a technical understanding of the CMC roles and functions such as cell line, cell culture, purification, formulation and in-process analyses.
  • Proven track record in CMC and/or product development and evidence of scientific accomplishments
  • Proven track record of managing complex matrix organization and cross-functional programs
  • An effective leader of matrix teams, who cares about the development of his reports and is an excellent motivator and coach.
  • The candidate is highly collaborative, internally and in partnerships with external organizations.
  • Exceptional communication skills for navigating and seeking opportunities within our internal and external networks.
  • Agile and innovative mindset. Always ready to step out of the box for creating and exploring new ideas. Yet is results driven.
