A day in the life as a Product Owner
You organize in the full lifecycle of product development, including conducting research & discovery to understand our clients' needs, developing a product roadmap, being the owner of the product roadmap together with the Head of Product, running sprint planning meetings and standups, and collaborating with partner teams to deliver the best possible product. Most importantly, you challenge the status quo and inspire people toward a unified outcome.
As a Product Owner you will:
- Develop the product roadmap: You will work with internal and external stakeholders to understand what to build and when to build it
- Lead Product Requirements: You will lead the development of the product requirements. This includes defining product features and specifications in a well-defined product requirement document. You’ll justify projects against key company objectives and user needs
- Conduct research and analysis: In order to frame the requirements, you’ll need to collect supporting evidence–from user interviews, market research, and competitive analysis.
- Deep tech team integration: You will work very closely with the tech team and be the representative of the product team there.
Your qualifications
Skills
- Skilled researcher capable of collecting and distilling information from customers and data systems
- Experienced with project management tools such as Asana for effective team management
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity with a flexible operating range
- Strong coaching skills for guiding effective team rituals and processes (e.g., sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, demos
- Deep undertanding of building financial software products
Education and Background
- 3+ years of experience in product management, particularly in lending, money movement, or retention-focused product development, ideally within FinTech or B2C SaaS companies
- Experience in building and iterating upon MVP features, as well as developing products from scratch and advancing them from 1 to 100
