Introduction
Spacetek's technology has its origins in scientific space flight. We use this expertise to design, manufacture and distribute compact and robust time-of-flight mass spectrometers (TOF-MS) for industrial and space applications. Our focus is to close the gap in the current lack of process control of existing and future manufacturing technologies in the semiconductor industry.
Our products redefine the real-time analysis of chemical processes in physical processes. This massively improves process control and increases production yields. At the same time, waste and environmental impact are minimized. Our innovation is used in an international environment with business partners in Germany, Korea and Japan. Our network is growing rapidly in Asia, Europe and the USA.
The company is based in Switzerland (Gümligen) and has a team of 41 members. Our company has offices in South Korea (Dongtan, Hwaseong) and Taiwan (Taichung).
We are looking for a motivated and precise worker to join our R&D team.

Your tasks:
- Propose and drive R&D projects for future development of the IonTamer™ instrument
- Design and perform experiments and carry out literature research to answer research questions
- Analyse, interpret and summarize experimental outcomes; recommend a course of action
- Provide expertise on the scientific aspects of time-of-flight mass spectrometry
Your profile:
- A PhD in a relevant technical field, alternatively a Master's degree with 3+ years of industry experience
- In-depth knowledge of metrology techniques, preferably (time-of-flight) mass spectrometry
- Knowledge of scientific data analysis and visualization in Python
- Familiarity with sub-components such as ion sources, ion detectors and signal acquisition electronics is an advantage
- Experience with vacuum systems and sample gas handling is an advantage
- Knowledge of the SIMION® simulation software is an advantage
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), German proficiency is a plus
The location for this advertised position is at the headquarters in Gümligen (Bern). Start date to be agreed.
