Local Category Manager

Join SCHURTER - a globally leading innovator of safe power solutions. As we continue to strengthen our global supply chain, we are looking for a Local Category Manager based in Central or Eastern Europe, with a focus on Metal, Plastic, and Electromechanics to drive regional procurement excellence and ensure alignment with our global sourcing strategy.

Your Responsibilities

• Coordinate local sourcing needs in alignment with SCHURTER's global supply chain strategy

• Define procurement strategies for innovation projects and new product introductions

• Ensure timely and quality-conscious sourcing of products and services at optimal total cost

• Expand and manage a competitive local supplier portfolio

• Provide procurement guidance to specialist departments across the region

• Negotiate prices and terms with local suppliers on behalf of all SCHURTER companies in the region, in coordination with the Global Category Manager

• Analyze and report local procurement KPIs on a monthly basis, aligned with global standards

Your Profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management or equivalent

• At least 5 years in strategic sourcing, ideally in a global or complex supplier environment

• Profound knowledge in supplier management, contract negotiation, cost analysis, and market trends

• Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and eProcurement tools is a plus

• Strong negotiation track record - delivering cost reductions and service level improvements

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to derive strategic insights from data

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both internally and externally

• Fluent in English; German and other language skills are an advantage

• Willingness to travel regularly within the region.
