As Project Manager Factory Investments, you will take the lead in high-impact CAPEX projects - ranging from 2 to 10 million CHF - focused on factory optimization and the implementation of cutting-edge manufacturing technologies. You will play a key role in developing our production sites in Switzerland and abroad, driving advancements in automation, digitalization, and operational excellence within a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing setup.
With your entrepreneurial mindset, strong result orientation, and technical know-how, you will guide cross-functional project teams through the entire project lifecycle—from concept to handover—ensuring high-quality, on-time, and on-budget execution. Your efforts will directly contribute to safeguarding stable operations while enhancing our long-term competitiveness.
You will join the Value Chain organization in Baden, reporting to the Value Chain Investment Manager, and work closely with factory leadership and technical experts across our global value chain.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead complex factory optimization and investment projects (CAPEX 2–10M CHF), ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality execution.
- Develop deep expertise in production processes to drive innovation, automation, and digitalization—striking the right balance between productivity and operational stability.
- Manage cross-functional project teams globally through all phases: from initiation and analysis to concept development, implementation, and successful handover, including actively shaping maintenance and service concepts.
- Build and lead high-performing project teams, establish governance structures, plan and manage work packages effectively.
- Act as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders—ensuring strong customer focus, continuous dialogue, and service excellence.
- Foster partnerships with external entities such as suppliers, universities, and technology providers.
- Share knowledge and best practices across the organization; continuously enhance project management methodologies and tools.
Your background:
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical/Automation, Production Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3–5 years of proven project management experience leading complex CAPEX projects, with a solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a pragmatic, results-driven approach.
- Hands-on experience in the machinery or metal manufacturing industry, ideally with implementation of advanced technologies (e.g., cutting systems).
- Strong financial literacy to evaluate data and build sound business cases for investments.
- Analytical thinker with excellent conceptual skills and a proactive, solution-oriented and independent working style.
- Team player with high self-motivation, curiosity, and a strong drive to continuously learn and improve.
- Fluent in English and German (written and spoken).
