Researcher for the neurosurgery departement
The NeuroRestore laboratory at CHUV (Lausanne University Hospital) is offering a position for a Software Engineer for an occupational rate of 80% - 100%.
Contexte
The Lausanne University Hospital CHUV is one in five university hospitals in Switzerland, and the only one in the French-speaking part of the country carrying out DBS implantations for Parkinsonian conditions, with more than 50 cases per year. Academically, it is linked to the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne (UNIL) and it holds close ties to the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL).
.NeuroRestore is a research, innovation and treatment center that develops and applies bioengineering strategies involving neurosurgical interventions to restore neurological functions.
Our mission is to conceive and deploy innovative interventions to restore motor functions after central nervous system disorders, especially spinal cord injury, and to translate our findings into clinical applications capable of improving the quality of life for people with motor impairments.
Mission
Main duties and responsibilities
- Support NeuroRestore researchers and clinicians by delivering robust software solutions for various stages of therapy development (data acquisition, therapy optimization, interfaces with stimulation systems, etc.)
- Contribute to the design and development of high-quality software following best engineering practices
- Participate in verification and validation activities of NeuroRestore software systems
- Contribute to software testing, documentation, and release preparation
- Ensure robust data management and support automation of data analysis
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams (engineers, neuroscientists, clinicians)
- Provide technical support in the context of research and clinical studies
- Contribute to the documentation required for compliance with applicable standards.
Profil
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a software engineer or in a similar role
- Proficiency in C, C++, C#, Python and/or MATLAB
- Solid knowledge of software architectural principles and development best practices
- Experience working on multiple projects in parallel
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Fluency in English (French is a plus).
These elements constitue a plus:
- Experience in regulated environments (medical, clinical research, automotive, spacial, etc.)
- Familiarity with verification and validation processes
- Experience with documentation in regulated contexts.
