The Biocommunication Group at ETH Zürich, led by Professor Consuelo De Moraes, is looking for a student assistant to work approx. 20 hours per month (approx. 5 hours spread across 2-3 days per week), starting in July. The position is available for an initial 6 months, and, ideally, we are looking for a student who would be interested in continuing for longer. Which days and times are worked are flexible upon discussion, although mornings will not be possible.
Job description
The job is focused on rearing and maintaining mosquito colonies at ETHZ. This includes care of all life stages and cleaning and maintenance of the colonies and equipment. The mosquitoes are not infected with any diseases.
Profile
You must be a current Bachelor or Master student at ETH or UZH, fluent in English, well organized and comfortable working with mosquitoes (and not allergic to mosquito bites). The work will take place in BSL-2 facilities and applicants must be willing to adhere to strict safety protocols.
