The infrastructure investment team of Swiss Life Asset Managers is an investment adviser to eight infrastructure funds, with total infrastructure assets under management of more than EUR 11bn (and growing). Since its inception in 2013, the team has successfully executed over 60 direct infrastructure investments. The mandate is focused on private equity investments in infrastructure and renewable energy assets in Europe and North America. The entire dedicated infrastructure private equity team of Swiss Life Asset Managers consists of more than 60 investment professionals and is based in Zurich.
Responsibilities

Support investment teams in structuring optimal debt financing solutions for new deals, ensuring efficient capital structuring.

Work across all investment strategies, advising on financing structures for core, core-plus, and value-add assets, as well as for assets in renewable energy and the energy transition sector.

Provide input on financing terms and conditions, ensuring they support the portfolio's long-term operational and financial objectives.

Liaise with other shareholders in co-investments, ensuring financing strategies align across different ownership structures.

Ensure financing structures account for operational implications, such as future refinancing risks, covenant structures, and potential restructuring scenarios.

Advise on debt restructuring situations if required, while keeping refinancing risks in check.

Evaluate financial documentation and oversee the negotiation of key debt terms, although final negotiations will be led by the investment teams.

Work closely with asset managers to ensure financing considerations are integrated into asset management strategies.

Take on two asset management files, supporting assets where debt financing is a critical component.

Support the development of internal financing frameworks to create consistency in debt structuring and lender engagement across the portfolio.

Assist in defining the long-term approach to financing within Swiss Life’s asset management function, ensuring clarity on how financing expertise is leveraged internally.
Experience
-
Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.

At least 15 years in project finance, structured finance, or debt capital markets, ideally within infrastructure.

Strong understanding of acquisition financing, project financing, and refinancing.

Well-established relationships within the banking and financial community, with a firm grasp of European and international capital markets.

Ability to work across multiple teams and geographies, managing complex financial structures.

Fluency in English; additional European languages are beneficial.
