Institut Montana is a fully accredited Swiss-international day and boarding school nestled in the heart of Switzerland. Montana provides a range of academic programmes that combine the best of Swiss and internationally recognised curricula for grades 1 through 12. These include the Bilingual Elementary School (DE/EN), Bilingual Secondary School (Sek I), the Swiss Gymnasium (mono/bilingual), and the International School, offering CLSP, IGCSE, HSD, and IB DP.
Your Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Mathematics, German and Textiles and Technical Design for Grade 5 in accordance with Lehrplan 21.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs, abilities, and interests of all students.
- Assess, document and report student progress regularly, using both formative and summative assessment methods.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports academic and social-emotional growth.
- Collaborate closely with parallel teachers and subject colleagues to ensure alignment and consistency across the grade level.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, colleagues, and school leadership.
- Participate actively in school life, staff meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Integrate digital tools and innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the school’s teaching and learning culture in line with the school’s mission and values.
Your Profile:
- Qualified primary school teacher with recognized Swiss teaching credentials (or equivalent qualification accepted in Switzerland).
- Proven experience teaching Mathematics and German at the primary level, ideally in Grade 5.
- Strong knowledge of and experience working with Lehrplan 21.
- German, native speaker; good English skills are an advantage.
- Committed to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and independent learning in students.
- Able to differentiate instruction and support students with varying learning styles and abilities.
- Team-oriented, flexible, and enthusiastic about contributing to a collaborative school culture.
- Confident in using digital tools and technology to support and enrich learning.
- Enjoys integrating outdoor and experiential learning opportunities into the curriculum to connect classroom learning with the natural environment.
- Professional, reliable, and passionate about providing high-quality education.
- Eligible to work in Switzerland (Swiss or EU/EFTA citizenship, or valid work permit).
