What's the role?
As Head of HQ Rewards, you’ll lead the design and delivery of reward programs across HQ locations, directly supporting Hilti’s Lead 2030 People Strategy: being a great employer for everyone, everywhere. You’ll translate global Total Rewards strategies into impactful local initiatives, chair the HQ Rewards Committee, and drive key priorities like job grading and recognition. With no existing COE for Rewards at HQ, this is a unique opportunity to build, shape, and innovate—not just manage.You’ll work across functions and regions, collaborate globally, and lead strategic projects that balance business goals, cost-effectiveness, and innovation. Experience in Finance, HR, Controlling, or Behavioral Economics is a plus.
This full-time role is available immediately.
HQ is a horizontal region with its center in Liechtenstein and associated entities in Switzerland, France, KL, India, Netherlands, Germany, and Norway.
What does the role involve?
As Head of HQ Rewards, you’ll lead the development and execution of a regional reward strategy that aligns with Hilti’s global principles while adapting to local market needs, culture, and legal requirements. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to leadership on reward trends, labor laws, and regulatory changes.
You’ll design and implement regional reward programs, including initiatives like pay transparency and EU directive compliance, while embedding Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and sustainability throughout.
You’ll ensure all programs meet legal and internal governance standards, staying ahead of regulatory developments and adjusting frameworks as needed. Using data and analytics, you’ll assess market competitiveness, track program effectiveness, and report on key metrics, employee feedback, and cost-efficiency, all while supporting employee wellbeing. You’ll lead clear and engaging communication of reward programs across HQ locations to boost transparency and participation.
You’ll collaborate with HRIS and IT to manage and improve the reward system landscape, support agile improvements, and ensure data accuracy.
Finally, you’ll lead and develop a high-performing team of reward and payroll professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and growth aligned with Hilti’s values.

- Educational & Professional Background : Master's degree in business administration, HR, Finance, or related fields, with relevant expertise and optional HR certifications.
- Reward Expertise : Deep knowledge of global reward programs, recognition systems, and business governance, with a holistic view of Total Rewards.
- Analytical & Economic Skills : Strong foundation in controlling and economics, with 8–10 years in Compensation & Benefits, including expertise in grading, benchmarking, and behavioral economics.
- Leadership & Collaboration : Proven people leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions, geographies, and seniority levels.
- External Market Insight : Active engagement with external networks and industry bodies to stay informed on reward trends and best practices.
