Presentation
The Department of Plant Molecular Biology of the University of Lausanne is offering a postdoc position to biochemically and functionally characterize cell wall complexes by Cryo-EM. The group combines structural biology and quantitative biochemistry with genetics and cell biology in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana. We are offering a dynamic and dedicated research environment with state-of-the art facilities for structural biology, biochemistry,(eukaryotic expression platform, biophysical instrumentation and access to a crystallization facility), plant genetics and cell biology. Our research is focused on cell signaling and cell wall remodeling events (Moussu et al.,PNAS, 2020; Moussu et al., Acta CrysD, 2018; Moussu et a., Science, 2023;) essential to plant growth and development. Our lab is located at the University of Lausanne at the Dorigny Campus, by the lake Geneva, in Lausanne. The Department hosts nine internationally recognized research groups. As part of the Faculty of Biology and Medicine, the Department has access to several state-of-the-art technology platforms, including genomics, proteomics, imaging, and Cryo-EM and Cryo-ET core facilities. Most of the working time will be dedicated to the doctoral research. The position will require some teaching assistance of undergraduate biology students.
