Your team
This is a unique 18-month experience where we offer you a permanent position along with a specific programme with rotations in different teams to build your expertise and professional skills. Pictet Alternative Advisors (PAA) is a leading alternative investment group and a wholly owned subsidiary of Pictet with expertise in hedge funds, private equity, real estate and private debt. With teams based globally, PAA constructs, manages and advises portfolios of alternative investment solutions for institutional and private clients.
Pictet has high growth ambitions for PAA for the coming years, notably to expand its product and solution offering as well as further develop its institutional and intermediary client base. In view of these developments, PAA is looking to hire a Graduate to join the Hedge Funds Research & Portfolio Management team composed of 7 highly skilled professionals.
Your role
Based in our Geneva office, you will join an existing investment team focusing on various hedge funds strategies while getting exposure to private debt strategies. More precisely, your role will be to :
- Have an active involvement in research, due diligence and monitoring of fund investments, as well as other aspects such as marketing, operations, monitoring of existing investments;
- Conduct screening and research about various Hedge Funds strategies and, overtime, develop your own sourcing network;
- Conduct screening and research on public and private debt strategies including but not limited to private debt direct lending, distressed and special sits, specialty finance and multi strategy opportunistic players;
- Support portfolio management, investment monitoring and client reporting;
- Help to develop investment due diligence reports, monitoring reports and other memorandums in conjunction with and for the senior members of the team and for clients;
- Contribute to the decision-making process as part of a small and flat team;
- Build peer group reports and expand the list of monitored underlying potential candidates across strategies;
- Help maintaining systems up to date with new relevant information;
- Have an active involvement in ESG scoring of underlying managers.
Your profile
- University degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or equivalent from a top-tier university, ideally completed with the CFA or another quantitative certification;
- Theoretical knowledge or relevant work/internship experience in portfolio construction, investment processes and risk management approaches – with a maximum of two years’ work experience:
- Solid knowledge of alternative investments universe (liquid and illiquid) as well as a strong interest in financial markets in general:
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft office package and and familiarity with leveraging AI tools. While programming skills are not a requirement, these would be considered a good plus;
- Very strong analytical and logical thinking skills while owning outstanding interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
- Drive, positive energy and a team player;
- Excellent command of English is needed, any additional European language is an asset;
- Must be resident in Switzerland or willing to relocate.
