À propos de cette offre
Are you ready to shape the future of the lighting industry with us?
Do you want to be part of one of the most disruptive and innovative companies? Join L.E.S.S's team to turn the lighting industry on its head.
Awarded as the best Swiss Startup twice and winner of the Swiss Economic Forum Award 2018, L.E.S.S. SA is specialized in the development and production of high-tech products in the fields of technical lighting. We are a fast-growing and innovative high-tech company with international activities. We provide energy-efficient design-oriented lighting solutions and we are focused on the final user needs by providing safe, bright and innovative products.
What are we looking for? To support our advanced production and engineering activities, we are seeking a Software Engineering Intern for a 6-months internship focused on the development of a decision-support model for laser source selection.
The objective of this internship is to design and implement a software-based model that enables the optimal selection of laser sources based on defined optical and system level specifications. This work will contribute to improving engineering efficiency and ensuring optimal system performance across our optical platforms.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of software engineering, optics, and hardware control within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
During this internship you will:
- Analyze optical system requirements, including wavelength, power, and thermal constraints
- Define relevant laser performance parameters and selection criteria
- Develop a data-driven model to match laser characteristics with optical system specifications
- Implement the model using Python
- Redesign and structure the software architecture of the optical characterization station
- Develop hardware control solutions for motors, sensors, and laboratory instruments
- Interface with laboratory equipment via serial, USB, Ethernet, or other communication protocols
- When required, implement low-level control using microcontrollers (motor control, real-time acquisition, signal generation)
- Develop a user-friendly interface or configuration tool to support engineering decision-making
- Document the model architecture, assumptions, and validation methodology
- Present results and recommendations to the engineering team
What do you need to be instrumental in this internship? MSc (or final year BSc) in Software Engineering; Applied Physics; Photonics/Optics; or a related field. You have Strong programming skills, preferably in Python. You have a solid understanding of optics and laser physics. You are familiar with modeling, simulation, or optimization methods and have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You have the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment involving optics, mechanics, electronics, and software. You are autonomous, proactive and team player. You have excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to details and the ability to synthetize. You have a very good command of French and English.
What can you expect from us? A great first experience within a fast-growing environment in an innovative company, with an open, dynamic and brilliant team. The opportunity to learn about a new technology.
DO YOU WANT TO BE PART OF OUR ADVENTURE ? Get in on our journey and be instrumental in the lighting industry. Join us!
