To develop further our customer base, ensure their success and to pursue new activities in the EMEA region, we are looking to grow our team of Application Scientists in Munich or Zurich.
In this role, you will work closely with our users by assuming an active, technical involvement in our sales and business development activities. You will engage with existing and prospective accounts, learn about both our market and customers and contribute to our mutual success.

Your responsibilities
- Build and expand relationships with customers to drive our business in the test & measurements segment with a focus on optics and photonics.
- Provide application-specific customer support, including on-site test measurements and system integration.
- Proactively identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities – from market analysis and initial outreach to demonstrating technical feasibility.
- Collaborate with product management to align business opportunities with product development.
- Represent Zurich Instruments at major trade shows and networking events, generating leads and building visibility.
- Create and contribute to technical content to create visibility of proven solutions.
Your profile
- Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a similar field, with a focus on optics and photonics.
- Experience in business development and sales or strong interest to develop in those areas.
- Broad instrumentation and signal processing knowledge applicable to lock-in amplifiers, PIDs and AWGs with practical scientific lab experience.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills; fluency in English is a must.
- Team player with an entrepreneurial mindset for the high-tech sector.
- Willingness to travel internationally 30-40%.
