For one of our clients, a world leader in in-vitro diagnostics, we are currently looking for a Development Engineer.

About the job:
As part of the On-Market Subchapter, the team supports, optimizes, and develops optical systems as well as blood gas, electrolyte, and urine analyzers. With in-depth technical expertise and many years of experience, they optimize systems and respond to regulatory requirements and end-of-life issues. In this position, varying work packages and short-notice requests are part of the daily routine. A high degree of flexibility is essential. The team is young, and their values are based on trust, transparent communication, self-organization, team spirit, and enjoyment of their work, with the goal of offering as much creative freedom as possible.
The ideal candidate:
Has experience in systems development, preferably in the field of medical technology. An independent, proactive, and agile work style is just as important as strong teamwork skills and a passion for networking with colleagues. Furthermore, you possess a very good grasp of complex issues.
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Independent planning, execution, evaluation, and documentation of experiments of varying scope in the BSL-2 laboratory
- Coordination of experiment content with internal interfaces and regular communication with relevant stakeholders regarding the progress of the experiments
- Responsible for the progress of testing activities within the project according to the defined work packages
- Independent creation of documentation in English and application of the relevant processes and tools
- Independent evaluation, interpretation, and presentation of measurement results according to regulatory and project-specific requirements
- Identification, minimization, tracking, and reporting of risks and issues according to process and/or project definitions
- Review of existing laboratory processes/sampling methods, identification of optimization needs from a technical and scientific perspective, and subsequent independent implementation
- You will identify and develop suitable statistical methods together with project members to verify specifications and critical process parameters for experimental design
- Training and mentoring of new employees, apprentices, and students
- This position requires a willingness to handle potentially infectious human material.
Must-haves:
- Completed Master's degree in a natural science
- Min. 3 years of experience in the development, verification, and execution of analytical methods in the diagnostic field
- Enjoyment of hands-on laboratory work - 70% lab time - 30% desk work
- Hepatitis vaccination up-to-date, including titer confirmation no older than 6 months
- Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
- MS Office environment / SAP / Simulink proficiency
- Experience and enjoyment in handling technical challenges, curious and exploratory nature
- Solution-oriented

- Accustomed to working independently and proactively
- Experience with programming languages
- Excellent grasp of complex issues, structured thinking, and openness and enthusiasm for new technologies, ideas, and solutions
- Experience in the development of medical devices - integration of individual components into the overall system
- Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in managing interdisciplinary interfaces as a project member in the development team
