The role of the Category Manager in Strategic Supply Chain consists of development, planning and implementation of the Supply Chain Strategy for an assigned category.
Your working place will be in Baden, Switzerland, reporting to the Global Category Manager Components.
Your responsibilities:
- Responsible for reaching defined Supply Management targets (mainly quality, logistics and total cost) for the assigned category.
- Work out purchasing strategy and implementation of the same. Focus on optimizing total costs, product quality and logistic performance.
- Environmental aspects such as the Co2 footprint of our products and value chain are of growing importance and therefore an integrated part of the strategy.
- Frequent review of supply risks and implement appropriate risk mitigation actions to ensure resilient supply chain.
- Responsible for supplier evaluation, qualification, development, price and frame agreement negotiations.
- Define & constant improvement of supply chain with focus to shorten lead time and optimize logistic processes.
- Represent Supply Management in product development projects and ramp-up until serial release and stable supply.
- Responsible for relocation of parts until first article inspection passed and transfer to buyer organization.
- Initiate and drive design modification requests with design.
- Support buyer organization in case of supply escalation.
Your background:
- Master’s degree as industrial engineer or similar.
- Additional post-studies and professional experience as Category Manager or Project Manager in an international context would be a strong asset.
- Good negotiation skills.
- A collaborative and solution-focused approach paired with effective communication skills and relentless in execution would complete your profile.
- Fluent in business English and German is a must.
- Willingness to travel, up to 20%
