Location: Flexible (Remote or St. Gallen, Switzerland)

Position: Full-Stack Mobile Engineer (Cross-Platform + Python)

Focus: Developing the Smart Helper app ecosytem using advanced AI technologies to enhance lives of people with disabilities globally.

Your Role:

Close collaboration with a Solution Architect and DevOps engineer, product owner, and tech and entrepreneurship advisor.

• Build Mobile-First AI Solutions: Develop native mobile experiences for iOS and Android using React Native (Expo), integrating intelligent features like personalized chat interfaces, AI-powered matchmaking, and predictive analytics
• Backend Development: Build robust Python APIs and services (FastAPI or Django) to power mobile features, handle LLM orchestration, and manage complex business logic
• AI Integration: Implement and optimize LLM integration using modern frameworks for agentic workflows, RAG patterns, and context-aware AI interactions
• Data Architecture: Design scalable, privacy-first solutions with PostgreSQL and Google Cloud Platform infrastructure for handling sensitive personal data and real-time user interactions
• Mobile UX Excellence: Create intuitive, accessible mobile interfaces using React Native's component ecosystem and native accessibility APIs, with attention to WCAG standards
• Rapid Iteration: Use agile methodologies to ship features quickly — from prototype to production — based on direct beta user feedback
• Performance Optimization: Ensure smooth mobile performance, efficient API usage, and optimal battery/data consumption

• Tools: Git, API testing tools, analytics integration

What You'll Need:

• Strong React Native experience with production apps on the App Store and/or Google Play
• Familiarity with the Expo ecosystem (EAS Build, OTA updates, app router)
• Solid Python backend experience with FastAPI, Django, or similar frameworks
• Experience building multi-tenant SaaS architectures with emphasis on data isolation and security
• Understanding of AI/ML integration in production apps (LLM APIs, embeddings, semantic search)
• Knowledge of mobile-specific challenges: offline-first architecture, push notifications, authentication, deep linking
• Experience with RESTful API design and real-time communication patterns (WebSockets, SSE)
• Strong focus on accessibility and inclusive design principles
• Comfortable with agile/lean development and user testing methodologies
• Founder mindset and a motivation to create impactful products that last in production
• Fluent in English and German
• Eligible to work in Switzerland or the EU/EFTA region
  

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (preferred), AWS, or Azure
• Experience with healthcare or assistive technology applications
• Knowledge of GDPR, HIPAA, or other data privacy regulations
• Background in prompt engineering and LLM optimization
• Contributions to open-source projects
• Experience with analytics and A/B testing frameworks
• Familiarity with monorepo tooling (Turborepo, Nx) for shared code across modules
