PCB Development Engineer (m/f/d)
As a PCB Development Engineer at Sonova, you will be a key member of our R&D team, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electronic circuit boards for hearing instrument systems and components. You will partner closely with internal product and hardware teams, as well as external PCB suppliers, to deliver high-quality, reliable designs that meet technical, manufacturing, and RF requirements.
In this role, you contribute to organizational and product development initiatives, ensuring that our PCB infrastructure supports innovation, efficiency, and high-quality production processes.

- Design and implement product, component, and prototype PCBs
- Maintain and improve existing PCB infrastructure and component libraries
- Serve as technical contact for external PCB suppliers
- Prepare and maintain manufacturing documentation and data
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electronics, and production process engineers to conduct planning reviews and drive continuous product improvement
- Stay up to date with PCB and RF design technologies
- Contribute to R&D processes and participate in agile team activities
- Share knowledge and contribute to intellectual property creation
More about you
- Technical education in electronics (e.g., electronics apprenticeship) required
- Certification such as CID+ is an advantage
- Experience in PCB design using Altium Designer or similar tools
- Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes and RF implementation
- Solid understanding of electrical circuits and familiarity with grounding strategies, EMC considerations, miniaturisation, and RF design is an advantage
- Self-motivated, proactive, and quality-oriented
- Excellent communication skills in German and good level of knowledge in English
- Team player, flexible, and solution-oriented
- IT skills: Windows, MS Office; Confluence, MS Teams, SAP are a plus
