For our client, a leading global insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting firm, we are looking for a
Job Purpose:
The Claims Head will lead the claims practice in Switzerland, ensuring efficient and effective claims
management processes that align with the company's strategic objectives. This role involves overseeing the
claims practice, developing strategies to optimize claims services to our clients, claims handling processes
with our insurance partners, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Manage the claims practice, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Develop and implement claims strategies that align with business goals.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and company policies.
Claims Operations:
- Oversee the entire claims process, from initial notification with regularly reporting to resolution.
- Monitor claims performance metrics and implement improvements as necessary.
- Ensure timely and accurate claims settlements with insurers for our clients.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, and other stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for complex claims issues.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on claims-related matters.
Product Development:
- Identify and assess gaps in wordings & develop specific wordings for our clients risk needs.
Legal Support:
- Support function on local legal issues, such as compliance, regulatory, company law, etc.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on claims (incl. legal) activities and performance for senior management.
- Analyze claims data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Insurance, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree
or professional legal qualification or a completed Swiss Bar Exam, qualifying as a Swiss Attorney
at Law is preferred.
- Experience in claims management within the insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of Swiss insurance regulations and market practices.
Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
-Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Language Requirements:
- Fluency in English and German is required. French or Italian language skills are a plus.
