About the company: Aegeri Capital is an asset manager focused on energy commodities, which spun out from a large, well-known multimanager investment platform. Our strategies focus on analyzing information about supply, demand, and regional flows of natural gas and power, through which we aim to identify instances of mispriced commodities futures curves. We are based in New York City and Zug, Switzerland.

About the position: We are looking for someone to build out and manage automated European and global natural gas balances, and advise our investment team on those markets’ evolution.

Responsibilities: The employee will be responsible for

  • Developing statistical supply and demand models.
  • Supporting directional and relative value strategies across TTF and global gas markets.
  • Automating workflows that fetch and process new market data, which incorporate into full supply and demand balances. The data will come from web scrapes, APIs, FTPs, and other sources.
  • Building out a front-end display for the balances, so that the team can easily monitor the development of real-time market fundamentals.
  • Developing tools for global LNG ship tracking, on/offtake terminal construction.
  • Integrating European/global balances with US balances as necessary.
  • Collaborating with US analysts on research projects that relate to both markets.
  • Providing tailored fundamental analysis that supports consistent P&L performance through extreme volatility.
  • Managing a small discretionary European natural gas risk portfolio.
  • Completing development tasks through clean, maintainable, and efficient Python code.
  • Training and managing junior analysts in Europe/global natural gas markets.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field
  • 3+ years’ experience building and maintaining automated European gas balances in Python
  • Experience taking risk in European natural gas market
  • Intimately familiar with nuances of the full European natural gas market as well as global LNG trade
  • Analytic experience in US gas balances to be able to integrate European and US natural gas views
  • Able to build global LNG balance including ship tracking and supply and demand analysis in Asia
  • Able to think quantitatively and systematically about European gas markets, their evolution, and their inefficiencies
  • Experience managing and training junior analysts in Europe/global natural gas markets
  • Fluent in SQL, Python, and the Pandas Python package
  • Working knowledge of statistics and statistical modeling, particularly relating to time series
  • Basic experience with Python web applications, ideally using Plotly Dash
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and VBA
  • Proficient with Bloomberg across desktop and programming interfaces
  • Confident with Thomson Reuters Eikon
  • Mastery of TT, ICE, and CME trading platforms
  • Excited to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Fluent in English
