The electrical engineer is responsible for the design and maintenance of the electrical systems and software for our Sealed Air Cryovac packaging machines, ensuring designs are of a high standard, fulfil requirements and comply with the relevant directives and standards.

 

Day to day Responsibilities:

  • Design and development of electrical systems for packaging machines
  • Preparation and maintenance of all common engineering documentation such as wiring diagrams, bill of materials (SAP), operating and testing instructions, and Performance Level evaluations to ensure machine safety
  • Product Life Cycle Management: Evaluation of new components, retrofit kit creation and customizations
  • Programming of spare parts, software migrations
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems into machinery designs
  • Support in prototype assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems
  • Providing technical support to Sealed Air location for associated machines
  • Occasional customer visits (support, field testing, etc.)

 

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

  • Degree as an electrical engineer (HF) or similar
  • Experience in automation / electrical engineering
  • Proficiency in CAD software for electrical design (eXs e-cad advantageous)
  • Basic understanding in PLC programming

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven experience in electrical design within the machinery or industrial automation industry
  • Thorough understanding of electrical components and systems, including PLCs, motors and sensors
  • Knowledge of current standards (EN 60204-1, ISO 13849-1/2) and directives is an advantage
  • Knowledge of PLC programming (structured text, Allen Bradley, Siemens) is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Languages: German and English (English: corporate language)
  • Communication skills, resilience, teamwork, flexibility, takes responsibility
