Director, Enterprise Strategy

The Enterprise Strategy team works on strategic topics across Thomson Reuters, including business portfolio management, new growth opportunities, major acquisitions, and alignment of critical decisions for the company. The team works closely with our senior executives, members of our strategy community that includes business segment and regional strategy teams, and key functional leaders.

The Director, Enterprise Strategy, will report into the Vice President of Enterprise Strategy and manage projects that include identifying new market opportunities, defining market entry/expansion approaches to capitalize on the opportunities, and creating/maintaining an acquisition pipeline to accelerate our strategy.

The individual will define and manage projects, perform analyses, generate insights, and document/present project findings, drawing on external inputs (research, customer feedback, etc.) and internal discussions with relevant experts and leaders.

The position is an individual contributor role with the opportunity to manage more junior team members on a project basis.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Director, Enterprise Strategy, you will:

Lead projects typically focused on new market opportunities, acquisition evaluations, and market assessments

Gather information from internal and external sources, perform quantitative and qualitative analyses, synthesize strategies and business insights, document findings into visual presentations, and share project outcomes with senior business leaders across Thomson Reuters

Manage projects, including creation of project plans, leading strategy team members, management of cross-functional teams, communications to senior leadership, and taking responsibility for the rigor and quality of strategic analysis

Work with go-to-market, product, finance, and other functional teams to ensure that project findings are translated into lasting business outcomes

Be a valuable thought partner for senior leaders at Thomson Reuters

Help mentor more junior members of our strategy community

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Director, Enterprise Strategy if your background includes:

Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline required; masters or higher degree preferred

Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, including working in strategy consulting or in-house strategy teams

Experience leading complex strategy projects involving multiple internal stakeholders across functional areas

Experience in identifying and executing on growth opportunities, including organic and inorganic, preferably in Business Information, Software, or related industry

Strong narrative and visual storytelling ability

Effective synthesis and simplification of complex ideas

Experience working with large, complex, and global organizations, with a successful track record of collaboratively working with colleagues across regions, markets, and cultures

Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of an organization
