DevOps Engineer - Distributed Services

We are looking for a System Engineer for a team of motivated, enthusiastic and committed colleagues who always take the time to look at complex issues from all sides, who together master the challenges of day-to-day business, and who make the job of "running the bank" in Avaloq a success.
On our way to the cloud, we are providing an ever-increasing range of microservices to best combine availability and scalability. 

Your key tasks 

• Set-up, operation, monitoring and maintenance of the systems for the realization of the offered services.


• Assumption of tasks within the ITSM lifecycle, especially in performance, service, change, asset, incident and problem management.


• Support in the preparation of software artefacts for operation on Kubernetes.


• Declaration of distributed systems for Kubernetes in Helm Charts.


• Declaration of infrastructure components in Terraform for GPC, AWS, MS Azure and the private cloud of our service provider.


• Testing and rolling out new software releases in close collaboration with teams from development, test management and our customers.


• Supporting the development of operation-supporting containers (e.g. log file extraction).


• Carrying out error and performance analyses to restore or ensure stable operation using Prometheus and Ansible.


• Use of current technologies and tools for continuous improvement and automation of system operation.


• Participation in on-call duties.

• Computer science degree or successfully completed training in the IT field or comparable professional experience.


• Good Linux or BSD knowledge.


• Basic understanding of network protocols and architectures (TCP/IP, MPLS, peering, hub & spoke).


• Practical experience with at least one cloud provider.


• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible, Terraform, git).


• Hands-on experience administering Docker Swarm, Kubernetes, Rancher, Mesosphere or OpenShift environments.


• Basic knowledge of software development.


• Strong teamwork and communication skills and strong customer focus.


• Fun and enthusiasm.


• Very good English skills.

It would be a real bonus if you have

• Knowledge / experience in Git, Gradle, Jenkins, Bash.


• Interest for the banking business.
