Electricity flows with us. On behalf of Switzerland and in cooperation with international partners, we do our utmost every day to develop the best solutions for the Swiss electricity grid.
In the “Data & Development” team in the business unit technology we are looking for a platform engineering intern from October 2025 onwards. You will be a driving force behind the developer tools in Swissgrid and the cooperate data platform.

Let data flow like electricity
In this position you will be part of a team that is responsible for providing the data platform as well as a hybrid GitHub environment for the company. The team consists of a mixture of specialists (Data -, ML -, Security - & Platform Engineers as well as Product Owners) and plays a vital part in the company’s digitalization ambitions. You will work on the following topics:
- GitHub Operations (Manage hybrid setup, user & access management as well as helping other developers how to use the platform)
- Data Platform Operations (Design, deploy, review, and monitor cloud infrastructure for the data platform)
- Development Tools (Container based Development environments & CI/CD Pipelines)
This is how you make a difference
For this role, we are looking for a team-minded, proactive maker with a good sense of humor. Your duties will require the following skills, so ideally you would already have them, but obviously this is an internship so there will be lots of time to learn and an experienced mentor will help you to get there:
- Good practices with software engineering disciplines (e.g., CI/CD (GitHub actions), Container/Kubernetes/Docker, Infrastructure as Code (terraform), …)
- Be able to analyze, monitor, and troubleshoot cloud-based distributed systems (pref. Microsoft Azure, Databricks & Ray)
- Experience with the GitHub ecosystem or similar (Repos, Actions, Packages, …)
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Go, C#, …)
- Knowledge of Linux systems and shell scripting
- Be proficient with the English language
