About the Foundation

Project ECHO is a small non-profit foundation based in Zürich, Switzerland. Our objective is to provide targeted funding and/or tools and resources to organizations and individuals whose aim is to expand outreach and education in the areas of the environment, social welfare, and the arts.

Entering our fourth year, we are embarking upon an expansion of our organization to focus on social change through the arts. We will focus on three areas of expansion within the arts: Education, Collaboration, and Public Outreach. In each area, we will research possible avenues to bring creative content to relevant social issues both in Switzerland and globally.

We are currently recruiting a Director of Creative Development. The Director will work with the foundation’s Managing Director to develop and implement a program addressing how art can reflect and impact social issues and bring public awareness to said issues. The job will be based in Zürich, though may require occasional national and international travel.

Director of Creative Development

Responsibilities will include (though are not limited to):

• With the Managing Director, developing a plan for initiating programs that incorporate education, collaboration, public outreach related to social issues and the arts
• Researching relevant topics to be developed for specific public art projects
• Networking with local, national, and international artists and educators 
• Building relationships with local universities
• Recruiting artists and educators to participate in selected programs
• Developing educational materials to support programs
• Overseeing the launch of planned programs
• Assessing success of executed programs

The ideal candidate will bring the following experience:

• Local, national, and international relationships in both the academic and art worlds
• Experience producing educational materials in support of social art projects
• Experience collaborating with both academic and arts institutions
• Experience producing and conducting lecture series in support of art projects

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

• Ability to conduct research and organize/manage a program to execute selected projects
• Ability to manage both creative and administrative duties seamlessly
• Ability to remain detail-oriented while overseeing larger creative vision
• Ability to work independently to achieve objectives
