For our client, an international pharmaceutical company, we are currently looking for an Infrastructure and Utilities Engineer.
Location: Visp
Contract: ASAP - July 2027 (1 year)
Responsibilities:
- Own the availability, reliability, and lifecycle performance of small equipment; ensure equipment is fit-for-use to meet production needs.
- Plan and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities with internal teams and vendors to minimize downtime.
- Monitor equipment performance KPIs and implement reliability and efficiency improvements.
- Act as SME for small equipment in CAPEX projects: support URS/specifications, vendor selection, procurement, installation, commissioning, and qualification.
- Provide technical support to Operations including troubleshooting, evaluation of test results, deviation support, and issue resolution.
- Perform root cause analysis and drive effective CAPAs, change controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure GMP compliance: author/review/maintain relevant documentation (SOPs, work instructions, technical reports) and quality records (deviations, investigations, CAPAs, change controls).
- Support audit and inspection readiness; participate in internal/external audits, customer visits, and follow-up on findings.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Validation, and Operations to align engineering activities with production and quality goals.
- Promote and follow Safety, Health, and Environmental standards; proactively identify risks and support mitigation actions.
- Support knowledge sharing and training related to equipment operation, maintenance, and best practices.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience in engineering, maintenance, or reliability (ideally within pharma/biotech, chemicals, or another regulated industry)
- Solid knowledge of preventive/corrective maintenance, reliability concepts (e.g., downtime analysis, MTBF/MTTR), and equipment lifecycle management
- Experience in technical troubleshooting, structured root cause analysis and CAPA implementation.
- Proven exposure to GMP/cGMP environments and strong documentation discipline (SOPs, deviations, change control, investigations
- Project experience supporting CAPEX activities and working with cross-functional stakeholders (Engineering/Validation/Quality/Operations)
- Comfortable working in audit-ready environments and supporting internal/external audits and inspections.
- Strong communication and coordination skills; able to translate operational needs into technical actions.
- Fluent German and English (written and spoken).
