For the Cloud Hosting Services Department, we are looking for a professionally experienced and motivated personality at our headquarters in Steinhausen with immediate effect or by appointment as F5 Engineer / F5 technology enthusiast 80% - 100% (w/m/d)

Your Role

We are seeking an F5 Engineer with expertise in designing, configuring, and maintaining F5 BIG-IP application delivery and security services. The ideal candidate will manage application traffic profiles, ensure high availability, optimize performance, and strengthen application security.

As an F5 technology enthusiast, you will help ensure the reliability, security, and optimized performance of enterprise applications. In this role, you will also leverage automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform, support systems running on Linux, and contribute to our broader cloud strategy through integration with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage F5 BIG-IP LTM, ASM, APM, and associated profiles.
• Configure and optimize iRules, Local Traffic Policies, SSL certificates, and application profiles.
• Troubleshoot load-balancing, traffic management, and web application performance issues.
• Implement and maintain security policies using F5 WAF (ASM) and APM access controls.
• Collaborate with network, security, cloud, and application teams to support service delivery.
• Perform performance tuning and execute system upgrades.
• Monitor and maintain system health; generate reports on availability, performance, and incidents.
• Develop and maintain documentation for configurations, standards, and operational procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotations and assist with incident and problem management activities.

Your skills and experience

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across technical teams.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, SSL/TLS, VPN, load balancing, and L4–L7 traffic flows.
• 1+ years of hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP platforms.
• Proficiency with iRules (TCL) and traffic policy creation.
• Solid understanding of Linux operating systems (Red Hat, CentOS, Oracle Linux, etc.).
• Knowledge of security best practices and web application protection. Experience with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
• Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure-as-code, ideally including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) modules.
• F5-CA, F5-CTS LTM, F5-CTS ASM/APM, or other advanced F5 certifications.
• Cloud certifications such as OCI Architect Associate or DevOps/Automation certifications are a plus.
• Linux certifications (RHCSA, RHCE) are a plus.
