Nolff, DECVS Winterthurerstrasse 260, 8057 Zürich Oberärztin Weichteilchirurgie E-Mail schreibenRecipient Zurich, 02 Juni 2025 PhD Student (Dr. sc. med. vet. / DVM PhD) Soft Tissue and Oncologic Surgery / Clinic for Small animal Surgery We are seeking a PhD student to join our team starting October 2025 as part of a Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) funded project on fluorescence-guided surgery in soft tissue sarcomas. Project Overview The goal of this project is to evaluate the impact of fluorescence imaging on surgical margins and outcome in canine sarcoma surgery. The PhD thesis includes a clinical and experimental component. Clinical Component:
Participation in the sarcoma consultation service
Staging, monitoring, and follow-up of study patients
Surgical assistance
Data collection and documentation
Experimental Component:
Immunohistochemical characterization of target structures
Laser Capture Microdissection
Proteomic analysis

Completed degree in Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent)
Ideally completed Internship or practical experience
Strong interest in oncologic surgery and translational research
Independent and collaborative working style
Very good command of German and English
Willingness to enroll as a doctoral student at the University of Zurich
We Offer
Full-time position (100 %), limited to three years (with an evaluation after the first year)
SNSF-compliant salary (approx. CHF 47,000 in the first year)
Supervision and support for a cumulative PhD thesis with two first-author publications
