Our Research Group Human Performance Lab at the Department of Teaching, Research and Development is seeking a Research Assistant (MSc level) to join our research team starting on January 1, 2026 or later. The group's primary focus is functional outcome research (neuromuscular/biomechanical) based on data collected in our in-house laboratory.
- Lead and support patient assessments, including data collection, processing and data control.
- Support the planning, design and execution of functional outcome research studies.
- Collaborate closely with clinical teams, including orthopaedic surgeons, physiotherapist, radiologists.
- Assist in scientific writing and communication, including manuscript preparation, conference abstracts, and dissemination of findings to both academic and clinical audiences.
- Supervise and mentor Master students, providing guidance on research design, data assessment, analysis and scientific writing.
- Master's degree (MSc) in Health Science and Technology, Movement Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Physiotherapy or a related field.
- Solid knowledge and experience in neuromuscular and biomechanical data collection and analysis. Direct experience in high-density surface EMG decomposition and marker-based motion capture is required.
- Expertise in programming skills (Phyton, Matlab, R) and sound knowledge of statistical methodology and data science, ideally in relation to EMG and motion capture data.
- Sound knowledge of all aspects of the clinical research process from planning to publication, in accordance with Good Clinical Practice procedures.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize day-to-day tasks, meet deadlines and work with a variety of staff and teams.
- Excellent English (spoken and written, especially scientific/medical English).
- German language skills (minimum: comprehension level), or strong willingness to learn.
- Well-developed communication and social skills.
