In römischer Zeit nannte sich die Region um Allmendingen «regio lindensis», zu deutsch «Gegend am See». Gemäss Wikipedia befand sich dort zu jener Zeit ein gallo-romanisches Heiligtum in Form von acht kleinen Tempeln, umgeben von einer Mauer. So kam unsere Gaststube zu ihrem Namen.
