Exciting tasks in an academic environment. Lots of creative freedom and the opportunity to take on responsibility. The University of Bern is an attractive employer with cantonal guidelines. The work culture and interactions among employees in our department are very appreciative and based on trust. Employees can develop their skills, and the diverse tasks are motivating.

As a large organization, processes can sometimes be a bit lengthy. In addition, there is a great deal of freedom, and standardized procedures are not the norm. There are often special solutions or idiosyncrasies that have developed over time. The complexity is correspondingly high. The organization also tends to be rather slow when it comes to implementing innovations. Sometimes one wishes that decision-makers would be more courageous in driving change forward.

The working atmosphere and teamwork are fun. There is a lot of creative freedom and work is organized very independently. This makes it possible to work very flexibly. Together with the great management culture, the university is very family-friendly.

Due to the size and organization of the University of Bern, some processes take a long time or are cumbersome.

Family friendliness, working atmosphere, home office option and central location.

Cantonal guidelines on salary, so probably more room for negotiation in the private sector. However, other advantages outweigh the disadvantages for me.

The work was varied. You could work independently if you were allowed to do so.

The work was basically good, but in the very small team I was not given any respect or opinion. In the end, I was dismissed culpably.
