EDWATEC SA is a privately held high-tech spin-off company, founded in 2023 by researchers from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne, Switzerland (EPFL). We are an integrated device manufacturer (IDM) specializing in rare-earth ion-doped photonic integrated circuits for optical amplification and lasing. Our technology base enables us to target a wide range of markets from data communication to optical metrology and space applications with significant economic potential. Namely, by replacing bulk legacy optical amplifiers with our highly compact, high-performance, and scalable photonic integrated amplifiers, we create novel opportunities for various applications, such as optical interconnects, autonomous driving, optical communication for space, quantum computing, optical metrology and sensing, long-haul communication, and more.
