VTG is the European market leader in the rental/leasing of freight railcars. It manages a fleet of some 80,000 leased cars in continental Europe as well as in the United Kingdom and is headquartered in Hamburg (Germany).
Much of the asset investment activity is run out of VTG Cargo AG, Sins Aargau. VTG Cargo AG invests in new railcars and manages its own portfolio of railcars (currently about 9,532), a number of freight cars owned by third party investors as well as providing corporate governance and analytical support to freight car leasing joint ventures throughout Europe. VTG is looking for a full-time accounting and controlling professional to be part of the small but motivated team in Sins.

For the VTG Cargo AG, Sins Aargau, a 100% VTG subsidiary office, we are looking for you as Investor and Joint Venture Manager (m/f/d) as soon as possible.

Your tasks:

• Liaison with third party investors providing them with performance reports and the necessary information to support their investment activity
• Liaison with Joint Venture Management teams, predominantly in Slovakia and Switzerland, potentially elsewhere in the future, ensuring that they provide the information required by VTG (primarily performance reports and budgets) on a timely, reliable, accurate and consistent basis and assisting the local teams in the preparation of such information
• The role will further involve analysis and commentary of the information provided for the finance and Executive Board functions at VTG

Your profile:

• Good communication skills in German and English – written and spoken
• At least basic qualifications in accounting, more advanced skills advantageous but not a pre-requisite
• Qualification and subsequent experience in intermediate Excel modelling
• An agile, structured and enquiring way of working with a focus on expressing business results in numbers and explain numbers in business terms
• Independent work ethic with the willingness to drive forward tasks and projects on an independent basis
• Willingness to travel – likely to be between 2-5 nights away per month within Europe
