Python Developer - Financial Services - vacancy for a globally operating Basel based company in the financial sector.

Your tasks:

  • Creating, implementing, and maintaining robust front office decision-making and profitability analysis tools
  • Aligning the tools with the needs of trading and quantitative analysis teams, following business requirements and prototypes
  • Cooperating with cross-functional teams, including traders, quantitative analysts, and investment and risk analysts
  • Gathering requirements and understanding business needs
  • Being responsible for testing and debugging to ensure the reliability of the developed tools
  • Documenting code, processes, and systems to ensure effective knowledge sharing and maintainability


Your experience/knowledge:

  • Professional experience in Python development, particularly in a financial institution or banking environment
  • Expertise in working with databases using SQL as well as familiarity with data manipulation
  • Well-versed with version control systems like Git and collaborative development methodologies
  • Knowhow of financial instruments, market data as well as risk and financial analytics is a plus
  • Academic degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Language skills: English - fluent in written and spoken
