field-based in Switzerland

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Account Manager is responsible for managing and expanding molecular activities for assigned customers in the defined country territory. The role includes acting as an advisor/consultant to customers. The Account Manager is responsible for retention & value expansion with assigned Abbott existing but also new possible accounts.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • New business acquisition

  • Renewals of expiring contracts or new tender issued by existing customers as well price negotiations ensuring customers having the right prices

  • Establish value propositions and build business cases

  • Post?sale involvement with customers

  • Develop broad relationships with key molecular lab stakeholders including the decision making units as well clinicians and purchasing departments

  • Serve customer’s requests and forward them to respective Service department on technical and applicational questions

  • Become advisor/consultant to customer on lab productivity, use and/or design

  • Working actively in CRM system keeping the customer data up to date, reporting in activities and market data.

  • Single point of contact that responds to the customer promptly

 

EDUCATION AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

  • Experience from IVD laboratory diagnostics business

  • Sales experience is preferrable but not mandatory if having a strong experience from the molecular diagnostic field

  • Experience from molecular laboratory field is mandatory

  • Strong experience maintaining and developing customer relationships

  • Account Manager requires regular in average 70% travel activity

  • Candidates must be fluent in German and English, additional languages (French) are advantageous
