Your main responsibility is to ensure safe and reliable operation of our gas turbine products. Your focus is on defining and managing the protection functional requirements in cooperation with the component design teams and to ensure their implementation on the GT control & protection system.

Your tasks

Integrate, coordinate and manage protection functional requirements for heavy-duty gas turbines • Accommodate and maintain internal functional safety processes ensuring compliance with applicable codes & standards • Coach gas turbine development engineers to design and document accordingly • Facilitate hazard identification analyses of gas turbine components and consolidation on engine level • Execute and support technical risk assessments • Define and specify safety instrumented functions • Design, implement and verify the safety application of the gas turbine control & protection system • Prepare and conduct certification reviews with customers and notified bodies during project execution.

Your profile

Degree in Engineering • Several (>5) years of experience in Functional Safety of power or process plant engineering or similar• Excellent acquaintance with related codes & standards, such as IEC 61508 and 61511 • Sound knowledge of functional safety related methodologies such as HAZOP, FMEA/FMECA, SIL-assignment via LOPA, fault tree analysis • Familiarity with safety instrumented systems in both theory & practice • Knowledge of industrial control systems and related engineering tools • Critical thinking, problem solving & analytical skills • Team player • Travel: 10% mainly to Genoa • Excellent command of English, German is an advantage, further knowledge of Italian would be an asset.
