The opportunity
Health, safety and environmental (HSE) management is central to everything we do. Hitachi Energy manages HSE risks and impacts across our operations in alignment with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 standards. Our own global operating system (OS) for HSE and Sustainability has been developed internally to align our company requirements with these three internationally recognized standards and all our operations apply the OS as the foundation of their HSE practices.
How wou will make an impact

Drive HSE excellence: Lead the implementation of Hitachi Energy's HSE strategy, ensuring compliance with regulations and fostering a culture of safety and sustainability within the Real Estate function

Manage HSE processes: Oversee and optimize HSE processes within Real Estate projects, promoting continuous improvement and best practices

Foster a culture of safety: Raise awareness and standards to build a strong safety culture, encouraging employees to prioritize HSE in their daily work

Provide strategic guidance: Advise and support the Real Estate function on key HSE issues, ensuring compliance with regulations and mitigating risks

Lead HSE initiatives: Develop and implement HSE improvement programs, initiatives, and campaigns to enhance safety performance and reduce risks

Represent HSE: Serve as a subject matter expert on HSE matters, representing the Real Estate function and Hitachi Energy to external stakeholders

Leverage data and analytics: Utilize digital tools to analyze HSE data, identify trends, and inform decision-making

Develop and maintain HSE standards: Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and best practices, and assist in developing and implementing relevant HSE standards and programs

Build a skilled workforce: Lead HSE capability development, workforce management, and succession planning to ensure a competent and engaged team
Your background

Proven experience in developing and implementing environmental and employee health and safety policies and practices

Strong investigative skills to identify the root causes of incidents and prevent their recurrence

Expertise in HSE regulations and standards to ensure compliance and provide guidance to stakeholders

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to maintain positive relationships with the community, environmental groups, and other stakeholders

Ability to train and mentor external resources on HSE frameworks and best practices
