Global Designer (Dickies)

Dickies is looking for an exceptional Designer to join our Global Work Inspired Team based in Stabio, Switzerland.

What began as a humble denim bib overall company has grown into a worldwide force, weaving together cultural movements with a rigorous commitment to straightforward style and long-lasting ingenuity. 

Let’s Talk about the Role:

Your role is to design part of the Global product assortment. You will propose creative ideas and design solution, work on trend research and final sketches. Next to this you will be responsible for organising the approval process of fabrics and trims, organise collection overviews and prepare for key meetings.  You will work in close partnership with the Global design leads, product development teams, and merchandising teams on the designated brief, ensuring alignment with the brand seasonal direction and the business needs.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Fully driven by consumer needs and trends to execute the product strategy of Dickies.  
  • Leads and drives multiple men’s seasons/categories design from conceptualizations to finished products. 
  • Manages the planning, implementation, and analysis of merch briefs and line plans, and ensures creative designs are aligned with branding guidelines and commercial needs. 
  • Reviews and approves materials, colours, and final styles based on input from Merchandising and product development teams.  
  • Coordinate with Global/regional designers to create innovative and marketable designs that align with the Dickies brand and Dickies consumers. 
  • Stay updated with industry developments, new technologies, and design techniques.
  • Communication: Clearly communicating ideas, plans, and solutions to stakeholders and team members. Effective communication ensures understanding, alignment, and support for problem-solving efforts.
  • Resource Management: Utilizing available resources efficiently and effectively to implement solutions. This includes managing time, budget, personnel, and tools required for problem-solving.
  • Team collaboration: foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, encouraging open communication and mutual respect.

Skills for Success:

  • Bachelor's degree in fashion design or a related field. Proven experience as a fashion designer, with at least 3 years in a designer role. Strong start-up ability and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Indesign.
  • Knowledge of garment construction, textiles, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent understanding of fashion trends, consumer behaviour, and market dynamics.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a creative mindset with a passion for fashion.
  • In depth knowledge and passion for workwear, utility clothing and denim. Professional experience in designing menswear. Specialised in designing woven’s, tops and bottoms.
