Risk Vendor Specialist

(Third Party Risk Management)

Job purpose:

The role’s main purpose will be to run third party due diligence assessments and ongoing assessments via Synergi platform.

Synergi is Zurich’s global third-party risk management solution which automates the above assessments and provides a RAG outcome. Red flags / failures need to be reported back to the Zurich business stakeholder who will need to decide whether to accept those risks or remediate them. The Zurich business stakeholder will confirm the outcome and Synergi will be updated by the third-party risk management specialist, who may also carry out the remediation via actions assigned to the external third party.

Full training and support will be provided by Zurich’s global vendor management team (ZGVM team).

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out due diligence and/or ongoing monitoring assessments in a timely manner (SLA’s will apply) with external third parties & issue reports to Zurich business stakeholder
  • Join video meetings/calls and/or respond to emails with Zurich stakeholders to respond to queries about the assessment and outcomes (will not be required to provide risk advice as the Zurich business stakeholder will need to seek this guidance from their local risk & compliance officers)
  • Utilise Synergi reporting to keep on top of overdue assessments
  • Actively track and close outstanding assessments / report decisions / remediation actions to ensure SLA’s and KPI’s are met
  • Escalate challenges to ZGVM - work together to resolve
  • Provide reports to ZGVM for volumes of assessments completed, turnaround times, SLAs
  • Refer Synergi users to IT ADM for technical system faults/errors/bugs/ Refer Synergi users to ZGVM (or ADM team) for any change requests
  • Attend Synergi monthly governance forums to keep aligned with system changes / new functionality / user queries etc.
  • Drive continuous improvement - propose improvements to the process, Synergi system, and training guides as and when such improvements become apparent
  • Keep SOP/training guides up to date for own role & processes in collaboration with ZGVM
  • Join relevant training sessions to maintain good knowledge of the system, processes and changes
  • Participate in ZGVM team strategy meetings and/or team meetings as required including supporting audits of the system/processes as required

Candidate’s profile:

  • Finance and Accounting, Economy or equivalent academic degree
  • At least 1-2 year of relevant accounting experience (Accounts Payable or Vendor Management preferred)
  • Solid basics of general accounting and knowledge of Accounts Payable/Vendor Management process
  • English skills – spoken and written at fluent level (C1)
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • Analytical skills and attention to details
  • Ability to multitask
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Confident presenting skills – articulate (the role may require presenting risk findings or reports verbally over video calls)
  • Self-manage (booking sessions, manage own time, proactively provide reports & updates, proactively volunteering ideas for improvement)
  • Comfortable in working with all levels of grade and authority

Additional assets:

  • Previous experience in third party management or running such assessments
  • An interest in developing experience in the wider topic of third-party risk management and/or IT configuration and change
  • Knowledge of Insurance/ Financial Services legislation and regulations
  • ICFR exposure

This role is related to the key area of Zurich’s activity in Kraków.
