Tool Maker/CNC Machinist

forteq is currently seeking a Tool Maker/CNC Machinist at our W. Henrietta, NY location. This position will be responsible to basic preventive maintenance functions for plastic injection molds.

Responsibilities to include:

• Perform injection mold maintenance to include disassembly, cleaning, insert changing, and basic repair.
• Maintain the preventive maintenance records for tooling per established procedures.
• Assure tool readiness according to the production schedule.
• Ensures molds are ready for production based on the production schedule.
• Interface with outside vendors for major tool repairs.
• Recommend changes required to part design, tool design or equipment capability to achieve acceptable quality and cost requirements.
• Participate and offer input to corrective and preventive action and continuous improvement projects.
• Maintain proper housekeeping practices and mold storage requirements.
• Communicate with company employees in a positive, team-oriented manner.
• Maintains high quality standards per IAFT and ISO14001 requirements.
• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
• Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and clutter free work area (5S)
• Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required.

Experience:

• A minimum of three years performing mold-making PM duties and hands on experience with injection molding machines is required.
• 3-5 years as a CNC Machinist
• Must have good knowledge and mold making skills.
• A good working level of plastic processing is useful. The use of a personal computer and related software is essential.
• Flexible with schedule of work, if needed, for overtime
