Financial Investment Analyst (PF-IN-AR-2024-81-GRAE)

Job Description

Your responsibilities

As a Financial Investment Analyst you will work closely with the portfolio managers to:

  • Undertake the analysis of the private markets portfolios of the pension fund;
  • Monitor investments and participate in regular updates with fund managers; 
  • Develop quantitative models to assist in the evaluation of new investments, future investment strategy, and performance of existing investments;
  • Assist in conducting due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including financial modeling and scenario analysis;
  • Manage and verify financial data, ensuring accuracy and integrity in reporting;
  • Assist in the preparation of investment reports and presentations for the portfolio management committee; 
  • Collaborate with other team members on special projects and research initiatives related to the alternative investments market.

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas effectively; 
  • Demonstrated interest in alternative investments and an understanding of private markets; 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a international, dynamic and challenging environment; 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with investment analysis software tools;
  • Ideally some knowledge of programming software such as Python;
  • Attention to detail, organised and ability to work in large sets of financial data.
  • Fluent in English, the ability to work in French would be an advantage.

Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
  • By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Finance, Economics, or a related field (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
  • Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
