Chief Resident at the Outpatient Psychiatry Unit of Orbe
The Department of Psychiatry is looking for a Chief Resident for the Outpatient Psychiatry Unit of Orbe for the North-West Adult Psychiatry Service (SPANO), at 60-80% from November 1, 2025.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The North Adult Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Service (SPPAN) is a recognized institution (A1) for FMH psychiatry and psychotherapy and D1-S for advanced training in addiction psychiatry and psychotherapy.
The Outpatient Psychiatry Unit of Orbe is a multidisciplinary outpatient unit that treats patients suffering from a wide range of mental health disorders. The medical team works closely with all partners in the regional care network.
Mission
- You assume, in collaboration with the responsible physician, the clinical supervision of the multidisciplinary team (doctors, psychologist, nurses, social worker) in all its activities
- You provide direct clinical practice with patients and their families
- You contribute to the training of the Unit's assistant doctors and psychologists
- You participate in ensuring the quality of interfaces between the Unit and other service units, as well as the various network partners
- You participate in on-call duties and shifts, as second line, within the organization of the Unit and the Service.
Profile
- You hold an FMH specialist title in psychiatry and psychotherapy or equivalent or are in the process of obtaining it (or a title recognized by the Federal Commission of Medical Professions - MEBEKO)
- You have an interest in general psychiatry and interdisciplinary work as well as in migrant patient care
- You have good experience in managing psychiatric patients in an outpatient setting
- You are able to work in a team and share knowledge
- You have proficiency in French, at least level B2 (certificate required) for non-French speakers
- You are trained or interested in the care of migrant patients.
