Social Worker / Addiction Counseling

The cantonal social office fulfills the task of personal social and addiction assistance on behalf of the municipalities and supports people in accessing economic social assistance. To do this, it operates eight regional social services in the regions of the canton.

The social service for addiction issues is a specialized counseling center within the regional social service Chur/Plessur/Imboden. The regional social service is responsible for eleven municipalities with a catchment area of
67,000 people.
Social counseling, addiction assistance, and financial support

We are looking for the location Chur from May 1, 2026 or by arrangement for a social worker in addiction counseling.

Your area of responsibility

Counseling people with addiction problems and their relatives
Solution- and resource-oriented social counseling for individuals and families
Access to social insurance benefits as well as economic social assistance
Collaboration with social authorities and specialized agencies
Other diverse, interesting, and responsible tasks

What we expect from you

Completed training as a social worker BSc/FH or a degree in a comparable field
Enjoy working with people from different social backgrounds and with addiction problems
Counseling competence as well as expertise in addiction counseling, social assistance law, and social insurance
Outgoing, resilient, team player, good communication, organizational, and administrative skills
Ideally good foreign language skills
Independent and solution-oriented working style
