The EOC, the multi-site hospital of Ticino, is present with its institutes throughout the entire cantonal territory for a total of 1,000 beds. Thanks to the commitment and expertise of over 6,500 collaborators and their attention to human relations, the EOC ensures quality healthcare by caring for over 41,000 inpatients annually and providing over 600,000 outpatient consultations.
To complete our team in the Finance and Controlling Service of the Lugano Regional Hospital, we are looking for a:
Controller (100%)
Main duties:
- assist the local Finance Manager in carrying out their functions, particularly by performing delegated tasks
- contribute to the preparation of budgets in collaboration with the local Finance Manager of the relevant structure, the Management, and service managers, ensuring alignment of these documents with company objectives and institutional needs
- contribute to financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting at the local level
- contribute to the preparation of final accounts and verify their adherence to budgets, analyzing any deviations for the units concerned
- monitor the achievement of company and institutional objectives through the definition of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and the preparation of the necessary related reports
- ensure that managers receive correct information about cost accounting and related monitoring tools
- provide necessary support in project management, both during development and monitoring phases
- take on and carry out special or ad hoc tasks
- collaborate with the central accounting and billing service, particularly regarding the collection and exchange of information necessary to prepare accurate budgets and final accounts, in line with current directives
- coordinate with other EOC controllers within their competencies to ensure alignment in accounting choices among the different Hospitals/Institutes
Required profile:
- higher education in Business Economics or Diploma as a specialist in finance and accounting or Expert in finance and controlling or equivalent qualifications
- several years of experience in similar roles, preferably in hospitals or complex organizations
- solid skills in cost accounting, management control, and reporting
- ability to strategically interpret economic-financial data
- strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- attitude for interdisciplinary collaboration and working in complex institutional contexts
- proficiency in main IT systems and programs (SAP preferred)
- excellent knowledge of spoken and written Italian; good knowledge of a second national language, knowledge of English is a plus
