The main department Higher Education and Vocational Training includes vocational training and career counseling of the canton of Glarus. The Vocational Training Case Management is aimed at adolescents or young adults whose transition to vocational training is at risk and supports them specifically on the path to completing a post-compulsory education.
We are looking for a
Case Manager 50-60%
from March 1, 2021 or by arrangement with the workplace in Glarus.
Tasks
- Case management support for young people who have not managed to enter vocational training on their own or have dropped out of training
- Negotiating and coordinating measures to lead these young people to a vocational qualification
- Motivating communication with young people, guardians, and other parties involved
- Collaboration with other institutions in the canton (associations, Glarus bridge offer, RAV, IV, etc.)
- Initiation/participation/leadership of projects in the topic area transition from lower secondary to upper secondary (interface1)
- Representation of the canton in relevant Swiss working groups and committees
- Writing evaluations, statistics, concepts, and reports
Requirements
- Degree at tertiary level, ideally supplemented by social/pedagogical/advisory further education
- In-depth knowledge of the Swiss education system, the labor market, and social systems
- Diverse professional and life experience
- Negotiation skills, coaching abilities, and assertiveness
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and derive appropriate actions from complex non-transparent situations
- High level of resilience, pragmatism, and frustration tolerance
- Networking competence, preferably with an existing network in the Glarus region
- Willingness to continue education (e.g., CAS Case Management)
