Social Assistant for the Geriatric Psychiatry Service
The University Service of Geriatric Psychiatry (SUPAA) is looking for a 70% social assistant on a permanent contract, starting 01.01.2026 or to be agreed upon, at its Cery site.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
SUPAA is a specialized service whose mission is to ensure care, teaching, and research in the field of psychiatry for the elderly. This mandate is entrusted to it by the Department of Health and Social Action.
Mission
- You are a key partner of the multidisciplinary care team, from a bio-psychosocial intervention perspective, and you ensure the interface between the institution and the wider health and social network (OCTP, SPJ, CSR, CMS, JdP, courts, employers, etc.), as well as with patients, their families, and their close ones
- You support the patient and their close ones in carrying out specific and complex social procedures and/or change processes aimed at promoting their autonomy and social integration for therapeutic and psycho-educational purposes, relying on the helping and support relationship
- You provide a reference and expertise role to the members of the care team
- You manage the administrative documentation related to the follow-up of files linked to your activity
- You provide, if necessary, information internally and/or externally to the institution as needed, participate in and lead research and actions, and take part in service projects.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor of Arts HES-SO in Social Work or an equivalent title (mandatory SEFRI recognition for foreign diplomas)
- You have an interest in the field of addictions and mental health
- You have good knowledge of social insurances
- You have good knowledge of Vaud medico-social institutions, administrative and legal structures, accommodation structures as well as related platforms (CCICP and DCISA)
- You have good autonomy and a creative and initiative spirit
- You have relational, communication, and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
- You possess a spirit of mutual aid and collaboration and know how to show openness and flexibility
- You hold a driving license.
Depending on your profile, the salary scale will be between level 8 and level 9.
