The role
You will be the financial and operational engine of a lean, fast-moving agency. Beyond keeping things running, you will bring analytical rigor to business performance: tracking budgets, monitoring project margins, and giving leadership the clarity they need to make sharp decisions. Think business controller with a strong operational dimension. You ensure not only visibility, but also execution discipline across projects and financial processes.
- Own business analytics and financial reporting, track project margins, monitor budgets, and provideleadership with clear, actionable insights
- Ensure projects are well-structured and running smoothly, in close collaboration with the project management team
- Support budgeting for pitches and proposals, and contribute to commercially sound decision-making
- Maintain a clear overview of revenues, costs, and project profitability
- Ensure invoicing discipline, payment tracking, and overall cash visibility
- Review contracts and ensure alignment with client procurement and commercial requirements
- Support team alignment, conduct selected 1:1s, and assist with hiring and onboarding when needed
- Participate selectively in client meetings and contribute to scope and pricing discussions
- Ensure governance and internal processes are consistently applied across projects and operations
What you bring
- 5–10 years of experience in business controlling, operations, finance, or a similar role, ideally in an agency, consulting, or project-based environment
- Strong analytical mindset, comfortable structuring data, tracking performance, and translating numbers into actionable insights
- Solid financial understanding: budgeting, margin analysis, cash flow tracking, invoicing
- Hands-on, pragmatic, and solution oriented. You make things happen without overcomplicating them
- Structured and rigorous when needed, but never purely administrative
- High ownership, accountability, and comfort in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Excellent communication skills in German and English
- Able to move fluidly between operational detail and strategic big picture
