The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partner institution, funded by the Canton and municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural, and associative field actions carried out by centers and outreach teams, the Foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with a general objective of preventing social exclusion.

Job opening within the TSHM BUPP Bernex action for a sociocultural animator with an outreach mandate, 80% fixed-term contract from February 1, 2026, to July 31, 2026.

Job Description

• Ensure proximity prevention and mediation work with young people who are socially disconnected and/or seeking social integration, immersion in the local area, street work, neighborhood activities, small jobs, individualized follow-ups, sports halls, etc.
• Based on observed social issues, initiate projects and participate in the development of collective work, in close collaboration with other social workers in the region, existing social structures, and municipal authorities.
• Contribute to the development of projects promoting social cohesion within neighborhoods and the implementation of intergenerational actions.
• Actively participate in the conceptualization and implementation of community actions and targeted actions on priority issues or populations.
• Assume management/organizational tasks related to activities and objectives set by FASe and the municipalities.
• This position is part of a team of 3 TSHM and 4 monitors, supported by a team leader.
• This position requires availability from Tuesday to Saturday, late afternoons and evenings (within the framework of the collective labor agreement).
• This position includes coordination with the Vuillonnex CO (4 hours/week) as part of continuous receptions.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in social work, HES level or an equivalent university degree (education sciences, sociology, psychology, anthropology, ethnology / State Diploma of Specialized Educator (DEES), State Higher Diploma of Youth, Popular Education and Sport (DESJEPS). SEFRI recognition of DEES/DESJEPS must be obtained during the first year in the position and grants access to the maximum function class.
• Desired experience in social action, knowledge of youth population characteristics, strong interest and demonstrated abilities for working with adolescents/young adults.
• Good knowledge and practice in project methodology, collective actions, and situation diagnosis establishment.
• Skills for network work: collaboration with social actors of the concerned municipalities and canton, and proximity institutions; good knowledge of the Geneva social network.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with the team, coherently and respectfully with other social workers from the sector and neighboring municipalities and the foundation’s requests.
• Initiative, creativity, sense of responsibility.
• Good experience in organization and planning, priority and emergency management.
• Ability to write reports, use common computer software, rigor, and respect deadlines.
• Proven skills in "outreach" and follow-up of young populations gathering in public spaces.
