Physiotherapist in the Surgery and Heart-Vessels Departments
The Management of the Surgery and Heart-Vessels Departments (DC-DCV) of the CHUV is looking for a physiotherapist to join its cardio-respiratory physiotherapy team, with a workload between 80% and 100%.
The starting date is planned for April 2026 or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, the CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The cardio-respiratory physiotherapy unit, attached to the Surgery Department (DC), provides cross-functional activities in intermediate care and care units of the Surgery (DC) and Heart-Vessels (DCV) departments, as well as in the intensive care units and emergency departments of the Interdisciplinary Centers Department (DCI).
The team cares for adult outpatients and hospitalized patients, particularly in the fields of cardiac, vascular, thoracic, ENT, urology, visceral, septic surgery, as well as cardiology.
In intensive care and emergency, physiotherapists intervene with patients from all disciplines combined.
Daytime shifts on weekends and public holidays, as well as an on-call duty from 5:15 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. (7/7) for the management of adult respiratory emergencies across the entire hospital campus, are part of the team's organization.
Mission
- You provide physiotherapy services in the various care sectors (intermediate and regular care) of the surgery and heart-vessels departments
- You implement specialized clinical care, mainly focused on the cardio-respiratory, musculoskeletal, and lymphatic systems.
Profile
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy or an equivalent qualification, with Swiss Red Cross recognition for foreign diplomas
- You have experience or a strong interest in developing skills in acute cardio-respiratory physiotherapy
- You show a marked interest in acute care, as well as specific care, particularly for burn patients
- You are a motivated, dynamic, and committed person who appreciates working in an interdisciplinary team.
👉 Depending on the candidate’s profile, the salary class ranges between level 8 and level 9.
