The State Archive of the Canton of Zurich (www.staatsarchiv.zh.ch) is the central archive of the Canton of Zurich and its historical legal predecessors with its archival holdings spanning 1150 years. It preserves original documents of the Cantonal Council, the government, the cantonal central and district administration as well as the cantonal courts, notaries, and independent public-law institutions and makes them accessible to the public.

The Processing Department is looking for three student assistants 40% starting July 1, 2026, or by arrangement

Your tasks
- Processing of serial analog archival holdings
- Handling of digital documents
- Preparation and import of metadata
- Storage of archival holdings

Requirements
- Started studies in history (first to sixth semester)
- Interest in archival work
- Practical dexterity
- Expressive in writing and speaking, quick comprehension, and resilient
- Independent and efficient working style, but also enjoyment of teamwork

Our offer
We offer a part-time position limited to three years, a pleasant working atmosphere in a medium-sized team, a work opportunity closely related to your studies, and the chance to gain professional experience in archival work. The salary and employment conditions are based on cantonal regulations.
